With extreme heat forecast for the next two days, we will be taking steps to make sure our students and staff remain healthy and safe.
For the most part, students will be kept inside our air-conditioned schools. Outdoor activities will be moved inside or adjusted. Our health offices are prepared to assist with any students who are medically fragile, more susceptible to heat, or need cooling off.
Please see the following adjustments for CSMS:
- Carl Sandburg, physical education classes will be held inside. Sixth- and seventh-grade soccer tryouts will be canceled on Wednesday and rescheduled for Thursday, Aug. 24 from 7:30-8:45 a.m. Eighth-grade soccer tryouts scheduled for Thursday will be changed to an indoor meeting with coaches during lunch. Volleyball tryouts will remain indoors, as scheduled.
