Benefits of Volunteers

The Board of Education encourages the use of resource persons and volunteers to:
 
  • Give more individual attention to students
  • Increase students’ educational attainment
  • Increase the effective utilization of staff time and skills
  • Promote greater community involvement
  • Provide enrichment experiences for students
 
Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities involve working with students during school-sponsored activities. Examples include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Attending field trips
  • Chaperoning dances
  • Volunteering in the classrooms and/or library
 
Screening

Any parent who wishes to volunteer in District 75 must be screened through the District 75 Raptor System. This is a new background check system that supports the safety and security of district students and staff. In addition, all prospective volunteers must be screened against the sex offender list. Persons are prohibited from volunteering if they are defined as a:
 
Please stop by your building's office during school hours with a picture ID to complete the screening process. The process must be completed at least 24 hours prior to your volunteer opportunity. For questions, contact your school's principal or secretary.
